How to turn on data roaming (the right way)

"Data roaming" sounds scary, but for a travel eSIM it's exactly what you want — and it won't cost roaming fees.

Why you need it

Your eSIM is a local plan for your destination. Turning on data roaming simply lets it connect to local networks while you're abroad. Because it's a local plan (not your home carrier roaming), there are no roaming charges.

How to turn it on — for the eSIM line only

• iPhone: Settings → Cellular → tap the beamSIM line → turn on Data Roaming.
• Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → select the beamSIM eSIM → turn on Roaming.

Keep your home line safe

Leave roaming off on your home line so it can't connect and charge you. Only the beamSIM line needs roaming on.
